Dave Potts – Live at Sundilla CD – Finished Mixing!

Good news! We have finished mixing the Live CD, and it is being sent off to mastering as we speak. We’re going to get the artwork and other finishing touches finished off in the next week or so while it is being mastered, and then it is off to print! You should be able to get your hands on a copy by the end of February! I am very happy with how it turned out, we ended up being able to fit 15 songs and quite a bit of song intro/chatter. The audience mics were fantastic, those of you who were in the audience may be able to pick out your own hoops and hollers. I am excited to have this out for you all to hear. Many thanks to Kelly Walker for the recording and mixing.

Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference

I am spending the weekend in the Hudson Valley (Kerhonskon, NY) at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference (NERFA). 3 days and long nights filled with great music. I’ll be playing five showcases throughout the weekend, and spending lots of time listening to other great artists who are here. I’m especially looking forward to catching sets from Buskin & Batteau, We’re About Nine and Brad Yoder.

Saturday, October 29th in Rockville, Maryland

I am very excited to be heading up to Rockville, Maryland to play at Folk ‘N Great House Concerts on Saturday, October 29th. I’ll be sharing the evening with Jen Cass, a wonderful singer/songwriter from Michigan. There are still some seats available, if you are in the area, please come and join us. You need to make reservations, go to www.FolkNGreatMusic.org and follow the Reservations link.

Thursday Oct. 6th at Kiesel Park

For those of you within driving distance of Auburn, I hope you’ll plan to come out to the Sundown Concert Series at Kiesel Park, next Thursday October 6th at 6:00pm. It’s one of my favorite shows every year, bring a blanket or lawn chair, and a picnic dinner. I’ll be joined by guitarist Patrick Sweeney. Hope to see you there.

New content on website

I’ve added a couple new things to the website, I put up a few pictures from the live CD recording on the photos page. I also put up another track on the Unreleased & Live Tracks page. This new website is still very much a work in progress, so leave a comment and let me know what else you’d like to see added to the page and I’ll work on it.

I’m getting together next week with Kelly Walker (aka Sound Dude!) to listen to some mixes for the Live CD recording. It is in the works!!

Set Lists from Live Recording

For those of you who couldn’t make it to the live CD recording, I will let you know what was on the setlist. We won’t be able to get the whole show on the final CD, but here’s what we have to choose from;
$12.99, Hard To Say, One Night In The South, Martin, Poker Face, The Garden We’re Growing, A Day To Remember, If I Broke The Record, I Wish You Well, Mulberry Lane, Amanda Bramlett, plus 8 previously unreleased songs. A couple of the unreleased songs have been around for a couple years, so you may have heard Art Auctioneer, That Dude’s Bald and Foul Ball. The other 5 are brand new, titles are ‘Magic’, ‘Someone Tonight’, ‘Christmas Eve’, ‘Avery Taylor’, and one which still doesn’t have a title. I’ll keep you posted on the mixing process.

Live Recording!

The live CD recording last night at the Sundilla Concert Series was a great success. We had an amazing crowd, thanks so much to all who showed up. It was filled to the brim, and the audience brought a great energy to the show. I am really excited to start listening back and getting the CD mixed and into your hands soon. Kelly Walker did a great job with the sound, and has already put in countless hours of work on this project, with more to come. Thank you Kelly! I’ll post the setlist later if you’re curious what was played at the show. In addition to being recorded for the CD, we also had some video taken, so at some point we’ll get some of those up, so it will almost feel like you were there. I’ll keep you posted on the progress of the CD, should be ready to go in less than 2 months.
